ALAN CYRUS

Age 98, of McMurray, died of natural causes, on September 30, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carrie (Justis) Davis; his mother, Esther (Hurwick) Davis; his father, William Davis; his brother, Murray Davis (Luise, Lynn, Lorraine); and brother, Charles Davis (Pauline). Alan is survived by two children, Tracy Davis and Peter Davis (Diane). Alan was adored by his two grandchildren, sons of Peter and Diane, Philip Davis (Angela) and Jack Davis. His nieces, Lisa Davis and Heather Davis (deceased); and nephews, Craig Davis, Eric Davis and Josh Davis, are left with fond memories of their uncle Alan.

Alan retired after 42 years with Westinghouse, working mainly at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, where he served as General Manager from 1981 to his retirement in 1992. He was passionate about the nuclear powered navy vessels that he was instrumental in designing, testing and presenting to the U.S. Navy. Alan enjoyed and admired his many co-workers and spoke highly of them. Alan was born in Pittsburgh, PA and resided in McMurray PA. He was a proud graduate of Fifth Avenue High School and the University of Pittsburgh. There will not be a memorial service. If you wish to mark Alan's passing, his favorite local charity was the Peters Township Public Library Foundation.
