BAHNSON
ALFRED BLALOCK "BLAY"
Died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 20, 2025, after a long battle with ALS. He was predeceased by his parents, Hank and Louise Bahnson; his sister, Suzanne; and his brother, Ted.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Henry; his son, Adam and his wife, (Beth); his grandchildren, Eva and Brooks; his sister, Barbara; and his brother, David.
Blay enjoyed life and loved people. He touched many lives, both in his teaching and volunteering, especially in the community of Northview Heights, Pittsburgh. He was a man of many talents and skills and a wonderful mind, earning him a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. Blay was courageous and adventurous and full of many stories about his adventures, challenges and dreams. I don't think Blay fully realized what an amazing man he was; but, others knew. He will be greatly missed.
No Visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Blay's honor to The ALS Association, who has lovingly supported us throughout this journey.
Arrangements entrusted to the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall.
