ANDREA (HAMILTON)

Andrea (Hamilton) Eklund, age 82, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, of Bethel Park.

Beloved wife of the late David L. Eklund; loving mother of Kevin (Lynne) and Keith (Kimberly) Eklund; proud Grandma of Tyler and Samantha Eklund; daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Hamilton; sister of the late Kathleen (survived by John) Bastolla.

Andrea was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Bethel Park, graduating from Bethel Park High School in 1961. She attended Point Park Junior College to become a medical secretary. She married her childhood sweetheart Dave in 1963 and used her skills wherever Dave was stationed in the Air Force. After Dave's death all too soon, she focused on her sons, family, and particularly her sister and best friend Kathy - becoming the unofficial experts of where to find the best fried zucchini in Pittsburgh. She continued working as a secretary, ultimately retiring from PNC Bank. She loved traveling, particularly for the joy of line dance: Dance for a Cure, Dance All Day, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Raleigh, Tennessee, the local Palisades, and so many more. Wherever the rhythm was strong and her friends could follow along. She loved animals throughout her life, and truly reveled in upgrading and living in the family homestead her parents had built in the 1940's. The family extends a special thanks to Ridgecrest of McCandless for four excellent years of care and to Commonwealth Hospice for their compassionate end of life care.
