ANITA M. (REGRUT)

Of Murrysville, a native of North Braddock, age 85, died peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Anita was the beloved and devoted wife of James T. Donovan for 63 years. She was the cherished mother of James (Cindy) Donovan of Idaho and Amy (Damon) Zeigler of Imperial. Anita was the treasured grandmother of Emily Zeigler of Oakdale and Rachel Zeigler of Robinson Twp. She was the sister of Ken (Susan) Regrut of Monroeville. Anita is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Anita was a proud graduate of North Braddock Scott High School, class of 1958. Her commitment to caring for others led her to pursue a career in nursing, beginning with her education at Braddock Hospital School of Nursing. She furthered her expertise with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Duquesne University, followed by a Masters in Education from Duquesne.

Anita's early career as a nurse was in the Medical Department of US Steel's Edgar Thomson Plant and later, she became the supervisor of nursing for the Operating Room at Braddock General Hospital. The last 26 years of her nursing career were spent as the School Nurse at Gateway School District Middle School, providing support and guidance to countless students.

Throughout her life, Anita passionately loved her family, especially her grandchildren, putting the needs of her loved ones above her own.

Friends are welcome on Friday, October 3, from 3-7 p.m., at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412)-824-8800, where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, at 11 a.m.

Anita will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery
