Antegoni was born on June 7, 1933, in the northern mountain village of Meropi in Epirus, Greece.

She immigrated to America, arriving on February 5, 1947, to Franklin, PA. Together with her beloved husband Pavlos, they owned and operated "The Edge," and "The Tin Angel" restaurants on Mount Washington, Pittsburgh, PA. Highlighted on the menu were her famous hand-made Spanakopitakia, Tiropitakia, Galaktoboureko, and Yianiotiko-style Baklava.

An exceptional homemaker, Antegoni was known for being "prokomeni;" very neat, clean, and well-organized. Her home was a place of warmth and love, where her devotion to family was always evident.

Antegoni loved her family very dearly. They reminisce sweetly over her Sunday family dinners, filled with her many traditional Greek dishes, Avgolemono, Kolokithia Gemista, Spanakopita, Arni me Patates sto fourno, to name a few.

Antegoni was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Pittsburgh, PA, where she faithfully served in the Ladies Philoptochos Society for many years, contributing her cooking and baking talents to support the church's annual food festival.

She passed on her traditions and values to her grandchildren, teaching them about faith, family, and heritage.

Antegoni was a true Epirotisa, cherishing the music and culture of her homeland, where she spent many joyful summers.

Yiayia will be warmly remembered for her sweet laugh, endearing little sayings like, "you kiddin' me" and "exceptional," and a kind heart that brought joy to everyone around her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
