ARLEEN MARIE

Age 81, of Franklin Park, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh on June 29, 1944, to the late Evelyn and James Craig. Beloved life partner for 35 years of John Artzberger.

Loving mother of Jimmy Abbs, Brian Abbs (Renee), Craig Abbs (Nathan Sentosa) and Jason Abbs (Kristy); stepmother of Nicole Hanson (Eric) and David Artzberger; grandmother of Allyson Abbs, Tyler Abbs (Amanda), Jamie Abbs (Brianna) and Mollee Keenan (Tim), Justin Abbs (Madison), Michaela Abbs (Mohamed Zarour), Maddee Abbs (Jacob Kisner), Katie Zimsky and Mackenzie Abbs; great-grandmother of Zain, Laila and Yusuf; sister of Diane Smith (Regis), Ray Craig (Monica) and the late James Craig.

Arleen was an RN at St. Francis Hospital. She enjoyed line dancing, spending winters as a snowbird at her condo in Myrtle Beach, playing cards with friends and family, and going to yard sales on Saturdays. She loved tending her garden at John's family's summer cottage on the Connoquenessing Creek. She was an avid fan of all things Pittsburgh sports, cheering passionately for her hometown teams and held season tickets for North Allegheny football, happily spending her Friday nights at the games. Above all, she loved being Grandma, Memaw, and Mimi and never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren whether at gymnastic meets, track meets, soccer games, softball games, dance recitals, powerlifting competitions, baseball games or orchestra and band concerts. She especially treasured their annual family vacations together and was so proud of the careers her grandchildren have built. She also adored her three great-grandchildren, with two more joyfully expected.
