Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Simpson, 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025.



Born at home on Metropolitan Street in Pittsburgh's Manchester neighborhood, Barbara was the youngest of eight children of Ada L. and Abraham Lincoln Lee and a proud, lifelong Manchester native. She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools, graduated from Allegheny High School, Class of 1964, and studied at the Community College of Allegheny County.



Barbara devoted more than 40 years to a career in healthcare, spending 38 years at Allegheny General Hospital, including 25 years in the IT Department. After retiring, she embraced travel and rest, then dedicated herself fully to faith-based and civic service.



Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and all seven siblings: Dorothy Jean Ransom (Charles), Frederick Lee (Margaret), Betty Louise Hughes (Richard), William Henry Lee, Anthony Coleman Lee, Audrey Laverne Diggs (Harry), Pauline Holloway (James).



She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Mark Anthony Lee (Bernadette) and Adam Frederick Simpson (Nicholle), and grandsons Ernest E. Wilder IV, Alvin W. Adkins III, and Alexander M. Simpson.



Funeral services will be held January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Church, 2710 Shadeland Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
