BARBARA BEACHAM

Barbara Beacham Anderson, 84, of Mt. Lebanon, PA, and formerly of Manhasset, NY, and Erie, PA, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. Born August 28, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Josephine (Grossman) Beacham.

Barbara grew up in Erie and graduated from Allegheny College, where she met her husband of 62 years, C. Grant Anderson. They lived in Ithaca, NY, New York City, and Roslyn, NY before settling in Manhasset to raise their two sons.

A devoted elementary school teacher before retiring to raise her boys, Barbara also worked in real estate and embraced life as a dog lover, gardener, reader, and fan of many youth and professional sports. She and Grant shared a love of travel, attending cultural events, and competitive social bridge, pursuits that reflected her curiosity and love of learning.

After moving back to Pittsburgh 34 years ago, Barbara remained active as a hospice volunteer and supporter of the Friends of Pittsburgh Opera.

She is survived by her husband, Grant; sons, Ken (Kate) of Windham, ME, and Ed (Beth) of Durham, NC; grandsons, Lee and Holden; sister, Betsy Sceiford (George Teribery) of Erie; sister-in-law, Nan (Maury) Cashman of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice, 700 Bower Hill Rd., Suite 1405, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
