BEVERLY ANNE

Beverly Anne Colcombe (Uebele), 82, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away in her hometown, surrounded by family after a 2.5 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Beverly was born March 30, 1944, to parents Margaret Fiorina Uebele and James Uebele. James was killed during WWII when Beverly was 1-year old. Margaret re-married Thomas George Scott, May 25, 1955. Thomas and Margaret raised Beverly, an only child, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Beverly graduated from Mount Mercy Academy High School in 1962, then graduated from Duquesne University in 1966 with a degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Colcombe, upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, on November 18, 1967, at Sacred Heart Church. The couple raised three children: Scott Colcombe (Stephanie), Courtney Arbster (Howard), and Christine Williams (Craig). Beverly's pride and joy were her 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild: Tom Colcombe, Joshua Arbster (Lauren), Alazanna Colcombe, Jeremy Arbster, Hannah Colcombe, Benjamin Williams, Timothy Williams, Margaret Williams, and Cameron Arbster. Beverly loved nursing and helping others, and worked as a nurse for more than 40 years. First as a floor nurse, then for the Visiting Nurse Association where she cared for thousands of patients throughout her life. Beverly knew all the roads around Pittsburgh driving to serve her clients in their homes to help them heal physically and emotionally. After retiring, she continued to use her nursing degree by volunteering at Senior Centers and through Parish Nursing. After retirement, she and Thomas traveled the world together, often with friends and family, including London, Paris, Budapest, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Rome, Medjugorje, Oberammergau, Panama, Juneau, Moab, and more. Beverly was a person of great faith, a life-long Roman Catholic, who led a prayerful and faith-filled life, who followed the prayer of St. Francis to preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary use words. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was filled with curiosity and was an avid reader, and loved as God taught her to love all. Her family will dearly miss her energy, charisma, and deep love. Beverly left the world a better place. Friends will be received Monday, August 3, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL), 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church - Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish. (Everyone please meet at church).
