CARL
Carl Shimp, 84, of Lake Elsinore, California, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1941, in Guernsey, Ohio, to Ellis Howard Shimp and Hattie Pearl (Postlethwaite) Shimp.
Carl was united in marriage to the late Patty Cope Shimp on November 17, 1960. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.
Carl dedicated over 30 years of service to the Pittsburgh Board of Education as a computer analyst, where his commitment and skill left a lasting impression on his colleagues and community.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Trimper of Lake Elsinore, California, and two sons, Mark Shimp of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and Dean Shimp of Florida. Carl was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Calvin Trimper, Gage Trimper, Kirk Shimp, Jakob Shimp, Brandon Shimp, and the late Kayla Shimp; as well as nine great-grandchildren: Whitney Schodowski, Emma Shimp, Aubrey Shimp, Grayson Trimper, Mya Trimper, Ella Shimp, Brooklyn Shimp, Lincoln Shimp, and Jace Shimp.
Carl will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and deep love for God, his family, gardening, and traveling. He was a devoted member of his church and gave generously of his time as a volunteer at numerous nursing facilities. Carl's warmth, faith, and compassion touched the lives of many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
