Carol served as a board member of the Merchant Marine Veteran Association. She also served on the Board of Southwestern PA World War II Memorial Committee in their fund-raising efforts to finance their memorial on the North Shore of Pittsburgh. Carol was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and Past President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Carol was an active member of Hamilton Presbyterian Church and past member of Dormont Presbyterian Church and Emsworth Presbyterian Church.
