CAROL MARETTA (LLOYD)

With gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we remember Carol, whose presence brought warmth, strength, and quiet grace into the lives of all who knew her.

Born and raised in Brackenridge, she graduated from Har-Brack High School (now Highlands) and St. Margaret Memorial Hospital Nursing School (now UPMC - St. Margaret), where she met the love of her life, The Rev. Robert L. Mitchell, when he was a cardiac patient and she was his nurse. They were married for 25 years to the day when he predeceased her on August 17, 1993.

She is survived by her loving family, including two daughters, Michelle (Keith) Johnston of Ben Avon and Leslie Mitchell of Seven Fields; two grandsons, Robert (Katie Rose Kenawell) Johnston of Shadyside, and Ryan (Gwendolyn Viles) Johnston of Polish Hill; and was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great-grandchild in August of this year. She is also survived by her siblings, Georgetta (Clarence) Dwyer and James (Alice) Lloyd of Lower Burrell, Thomas (Pamela) Lloyd of Huntsville, AL, and George (Patricia) Lloyd of Sparta, NJ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nellie Lloyd; and her oldest sister, Dolores Ambroziak.

Rest peacefully, Carol, among the angels who watched over you in life. Your love is still our light.
