CAROLYN WIRTH

On December 29, 2025, Carolyn Wirth Caye, age 87, of Ross Township, passed away peacefully. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald P. Caye; loving mother of Mark (Monica) Caye, Rhonda (Rich) Vorndran, Todd (Pam) Caye, and Dennis (Amy) Caye; cherished grandmother of Heather Caye, Kari Caye, Stephen (Caitlin) Caye, Cayla (Liam Dadey) Vorndran, Jessica Vorndran, Phillip Caye, Cindy (Jeremy) Blincow, Michael Caye, and Patrick Caye; and proud great-grandmother of Audrina, Logan, and Naomi.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie Bell, and her parents, Charles Gusta and Marie Henning Wirth.

A registered nurse for over 50 years, Carolyn truly was "a nurse for everyone." Affectionately known as the street nurse, she cared for neighbors and friends alike-whether stitching a wound, offering a B12 shot, or simply providing comfort and reassurance. Her compassion and dedication to others were the hallmarks of her life.

After the devastating loss of her husband, Carolyn persevered with quiet strength, continuing to do the things she loved most. She was devoted to quilting at church and never missed a Wednesday in over 30 years as a member of the sewing group. Through their work, the group lovingly created quilts for those in third-world countries, extending Carolyn's care far beyond her own community.

Friends will be received Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at Simons Funeral Home, Inc., 7720 Perry Highway.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Quilters at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville, 920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
