CDR JOHN "JACK" J.

Age 75, of Allison Park, PA, passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 18, 2025. Son of the late John and Lois Stack, Jack grew up in Penn Hills and was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School (class of 1968). He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, David and Theresa Stack; and is survived by his sister, Mary Lou (Drew) Van Orden; and his brother, Charles (Rosalind) Stack. Jack was married to Theresa Wojnar for 20 years until her passing on August 18, 1992. He was a devoted father to John, Jennifer (Eric) Blackmore, Tom, and Mary (Joe Hydeck); and a loving grandfather to Michael, Abigail, Zachary, and Penelope. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wojnar; brother-in-law, Raymond Grebinoski; along with a multitude of nieces and nephews; and he was predeceased by sister-in-law, Helen Grebinoski. Jack honorably served 20 years in the United States Navy, completing multiple tours aboard both combatant and support vessels, as well as shore assignments on both coasts and overseas. Following his military retirement in 1992, Jack pursued a second career in education, earning a master's degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh. He went on to work as a library media specialist for Pittsburgh Public Schools, Pine Richland HS, and the Community College of Allegheny County. In retirement, Jack embraced his love of woodworking and remained active in several community organizations, including the Ceili Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the American Legion. The family wishes to thank the staff at Arden Courts and Commonwealth Hospice for their compassionate care at the end of his life. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw on Friday at 10:30 AM.
