I met Chuck way back in the mid to late 60’s when he was helping out Dom Stratiff and Mr. Phillips with Morningside Baseball. Lots of good times, lots of fond memories. Then our paths continued to cross over the years. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr Rutter gave me my first chance to coach football back in 1987. I will always remember his guidance and advice for me as I continued my coaching career for the next 28 years. THANK YOU!!....RIP Mr Rutter

Mr. Rutter will always have a special place in my heart. As one of his worst gym students he always knew my passions were elsewhere and he supported me the entire time. He was an amazing person and I'm very sad I won't have the opportunity to thank him that support.

He was right too, I was the first in his driver's ed class to be in a car accident.

Dear Rutter Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Mr. Rutter was a very good man. I met Mr. Rutter at Seton La Salle when I attended there and graduated in 1996. He was also my driving instructor and also the driving instructor for my oldest son who also graduated from Seton in 2019. My oldest son also had the pleasure of having Mr. Rutter for gym class and baseball a couple years. He was a dedicated, funny, good hearted man and will not be forgotten. May God bless your family at this hard time in life.

Dear Rutter Family,
I got to know Chuck when I was a kid playing for The Morningside Bulldogs, through the Bulldogs' coach, Joe Natoli. Our paths crossed many times afterwards through Chuck's friendship with my brother, John, at Central Catholic. He will be truly missed, for he genuinely was a really good man! My condolences to all.
Sincerely,
Frank Fischetti

Mr. Rutter was the best kind of Christian man- humble and patient with high standards for how people should treat one another. All three of my grown children knew him through Seton LaSalle and his drivers education classes. Each one learned how to navigate the roads and pass through the independence milestone of driving with Mr. Rutter's encouragement.
Seton established the "Rutter Cup" competition for each season of sports. This award was given to the best overall team in terms of grades, service hours and success. Mr. Rutter knew the lessons of teamwork and caring for others would stay with athletes throughout their lives.
We all know where Mr. Rutter is today. God bless his family.

I was a classmate of Chuck (Central '58) but got to know him much better during my eleven years on the faculty of Seton-LaSalle. He was a great guy who always impressed me with his devotion to the students. He not only cared for them, but frequently went the extra mile on behalf of those who needed his help in some way. I think his concern for them was second only to that for his family. He is greatly missed.

My cleats had just touched the field for the first time in the fall of 1972 for Central when a thoughtful and caring coach screamed from the sideline, "Bartleeeey, Come into the game!". I've always thought about Chuck and his influence on me throughout my life. He was the greatest mentor in my life, period. No surprise to read what a great family man he aspired to and became. Condolences to the great Emanuele family as well. Our prayers are with you. I loved him dearly.

Chuck was a coach and mentor for me at Central. He along with Coach Scully asked me to help revive the freshman football program in 1973. Chuck gave me the reins over the defense and mentored me on strategy and how to be an effective coach. It is something that made my 42 years working at Penske so successful and rewarding. Chuck, I am forever grateful to you. When you see your brother in law and my very dear friend, Frankie, in heaven, please tell him I think about him every single day. Cathy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you.
