CHARLES EUGENE "GENE"


Age 81, of Adams Township, PA, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 2, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice Boyle.



In 1967, Gene married the love of his life, Jean (Watenpool), with whom he shared a beautiful partnership that lasted nearly 59 years. Loving father of Brian (Cheryl) Boyle, Lynn (Brian) McKinney, and Amy (Paul) Omasits. Proud grandfather of Shane, Ciara, Maura, Colin, Ava, Andrew, and Ella; and great-grandfather of Leah and Nora. He was affectionately known as "Pap" to his grandchildren.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John "Jack" Boyle, Carole Rudolchick, and Karen Vandevort.



Gene will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong sense of faith, and his commitment to his community. He was a proud member of the Irish Catholic fraternal organization, the Knights of Equity, and was actively involved in his parish and charitable endeavors.



Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at St. Kilian Church.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies of Charity at St. Mark the Evangelist or the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
