CONNOR JAMES
A young man full of faith, love, and laughter, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the age of 20. Connor was currently attending Miami University of Ohio for political science and history and was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity (DKE). He was a 2024 graduate from Upper St. Clair High School.
Connor had a passion for many sports, including ice hockey, lacrosse, and golf. His primary passion was ice hockey. He played on the Upper St. Clair High School team, the Pittsburgh Predators, and in a Fraternal Hockey League at Miami University.
Connor had an incredible sense of humor. With his unique insights and observations, Connor had the ability to make those around him laugh and think. Connor also loved and was deeply loyal to family and friends. He had a deep empathy for others and took their pain to heart. Thoughtful, generous, and protective, he defended and put others before himself with a quiet kindness that made a lasting effect on many people in his life.
A proud survivor of cancer, Connor defied the odds. Doctors once told him he would never play golf or ice hockey, or even drive, but he proved them wrong. With strength, determination, and an unyielding spirit, he never allowed cancer to define him.
Connor was a fierce competitor but also found joy in simple pleasures. He found immense happiness in driving his car with the windows down and country music blasting. He loved to spend time with groups of friends, to host gatherings and events, and to entertain and bring people together.
His loyalty to friends and family was unwavering, and his strong faith guided him in all aspects of his life. In one of Connor's favorite verses, John 13:7, Jesus says, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." These words remind us that sometimes in the midst of life's struggles and suffering, we may not immediately see the purpose behind them. Yet through faith, we trust that in time, understanding will come.
Connor is survived by his loving parents, James and Lisa McQuade; and his cherished brother, Mark McQuade. Connor was the caring grandson of Margaret McQuade and Hong Kim, the late John McQuade, and the late Evelyn Kim; and he was the treasured nephew of Patty McQuade, Susan and David Kim, and the late John McQuade.
