CONSTANCE "CONNIE"

Age 94, passed away on May 28, 2026, at her home at St. Barnabas in Gibsonia.

Born on August 24, 1931, Connie lived a long life centered around love, family, faith, and kindness. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.

Connie was outgoing and never met a stranger. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went and could always brighten a room with conversation and laughter. She loved talking about her life with her beloved husband, Stanley, sharing stories and keeping everyone updated on everything happening in and around her life. Her warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others made people feel instantly comfortable and connected to her.

A devoted woman of faith, Connie was an active member of Saints Martha and Mary Parish, St. Richard Church in Gibsonia, and made sure to attend or watch Mass every week. She also faithfully prayed the rosary daily with a dear friend. Her faith remained an important part of her life and brought her comfort, strength, and guidance throughout the years.

Connie also loved participating in the many social activities at St. Barnabas, especially when they involved a glass of wine and time spent with friends. She made countless friendships during her years there, and many residents and staff will deeply miss seeing her walking the halls and sharing conversations with everyone she met.

An animal lover throughout her life, Connie cared deeply for stray animals and was always willing to help one in need. While she officially adopted only two pets over the years, she lovingly collected, fed, and cared for many stray animals who crossed her path.

Connie cherished her family above all else and found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and growing family. Her warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength created countless memories that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her children, Elaine (John), Claire, Joyce, Marty (Bonnie), Steve, and Barb (Alex); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and her siblings, Ray, Jr. (Rose Marie), Ned (Carole), and Greg (Judy).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Nowak; her grandson, Ben Nowak; and her great-grandson, Billy Naughton.

Connie's love and legacy will continue to live on through the family she cherished so deeply. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

In accordance with Connie's wishes, no funeral services will be held. A family memorial picnic will be scheduled at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Advocates (https://www.animaladvocates.net/support-us/) or Hope Grows (https://hopegrows.org/give/donate/), two organizations that were especially important to Connie.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
