Cy taught at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law for 40 years. As a professor of law, his areas of expertise were property, natural resources, mining and environmental law. His students awarded him "Best Teacher" several times and he served as the patriarchal force behind the Cy Fox Home for Wayward Law Students. He retired as a Professor Emeritus of Law in 2004.
As a life-time resident of Pittsburgh, Cy was an Elder at the Sixth Presbyterian Church in Squirrel Hill and a long-time member of the University Club. He was a fan of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers, the Steelers, the Pirates and most importantly, Big Jim's in the run.
Outside of work and his involvement in the Pittsburgh community, Cy was an avid reader, fly fisherman and photographer. He will be remembered for his fiery spirit, strong work ethic and passion for the law.
