Age 64, of Fayetteville, NC (formerly Mt. Washington, PA).

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that the Cunningham family announces that Daniel "Danny" Cunningham died suddenly on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Fayetteville, NC.

Born in Pittsburgh on March 17, 1961, to the late Mary and James Cunningham.

Danny graduated from South Hills High School (1979); joining the Army, proudly served under the 82nd Airborne division, making a career of serving his country for 25-plus years, retiring as a Sergeant 1st Class. He honorably served two tours of duty in Iraq, his unwavering dedication to his troops and his responsibilities, fulfilling his role as a leader, sharing his knowledge and experience with his young troops, who respectfully tagged him with the nickname of "Pops." He took pride in giving 100% to everything he did in the military and in life.

Hammy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Robin (Dudley); and loving daughter, Katie (Rob) Sharp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Kuklis) and James; and older brother, Joey. Loving brother to: Aggie (Gary) Spangler, Alex "Buzzy" Cunningham, Karen Casey (Jayne Howell), Annie Cunningham, Joy (Mac) McDaniel; a loving Uncle Hammy to Angel and JJ McDaniel. He loved and will be greatly missed by his 4-legged kids/his dogs: "Dudley" and "Little-One".

To know Danny was to love him; a real character with endless humor; his quick good-natured smart-assed wit; his gift of laughter; ability to do or say anything for a laugh just to make your day better; his selflessness and willingness to help everyone, without thinking about his own wellbeing. Our Danny was one-of-a-kind, a light-hearted, loving soul who is immeasurably loved and will TRULY be missed.

Arrangements/services will be held privately in Fayetteville, NC.
