GILCHRIST

DAVID TOWNSEND

David Gilchrist, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Dave fought a courageous battle against blood cancer for eight years.

Dave is survived and cherished by his wife of 50 years, Pamela (Havice); beloved father of sons, Nathaniel and Jeremy; and dear sister, Sharon Snedeker. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Charles Gilchrist; and mother-in-law, Betty Zaccone.

Dave was a family man that demonstrated a love of family, and beamed with pride when speaking about them. Dave was a hard worker and was proud of his business, Security Specialists of Pgh., that he established and operated for more than 45 years. He believed that his customers were part of his extended family.

Dave had a passion for golf, enjoyed a good meal that involved a martini and cigar, and watching and supporting the Steelers. Dave will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quick wit, great stories, compassion, beautiful wink and smile, and those bright blue eyes that could light up a room. Dave was the kind of guy that would drop everything to help you.

Dave will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and customers.

Family and Friends are welcome at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1 PM until time of Memorial Service at 2 PM. Following the service, light refreshments will be served.
