DEBORAH LEE (MEINZER)

Deborah Lee (Meinzer) Kompare, age 65, of Shaler Township, on October 6, 2025.

Beloved wife of Edward J. Kompare of 39 years. Mother of Emily H. Kompare, Gregory S. Kompare, and Megan K. Kompare. Daughter of George Meinzer and the late Cecelia Gall. Sister of Gretchen (Martin) Nicholson, Heidi Meinzer, and Shay Meinzer. Sister-in-law of Deanna (Michael) Zitzmann and Sandra (Bruce) Rose. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.

Debbie was a 1978 graduate of Montour High School. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Communications. Debbie pursued a career as a paramedic, anesthesia technician and a patient representative assigned to organ transplant patients. More recently, she was an entrepreneur, starting a business called Collar My World, making pet collars and toys.

Debbie was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader and volunteered in the cafeteria at St. Bonaventure School. An Animal lover, she was a dedicated volunteer with rabbits at Animal Friends of Pittsburgh and provided home foster care.

Debbie was a patron of the arts and enjoyed attending performances of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and the Central Pennsylvania Ragtime Music Festival. She was an avid sports fan following the Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. Deb enjoyed sewing and spending time at the historic East Broad Top Railroad with Ed.

No visitation, interment held privately by family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
