DEBORAH LEE VILSACK Obituary

Of Upper St. Clair, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2022. Debbie was born in the Panama Canal Zone on April 5, 1967. She passed away surrounded by her family while in hospice care at her sister Amy's home in Johnstown, PA, where she was cared for by her sisters, Amy and Peggy. Beloved daughter of Harry and Susan Vilsack; sister of Peggy Leedy (Michael) and Amy Croll (AJ) and the late Matthew C. Vilsack (Jen) and nieces, Keally (Mark) Mackenzie, Sara, Addy, Charlotte, Madeline, and nephews Charlie and Henry. Also preceded in death by a niece, Alivia. Debbie was a graduate of Kent State University's Fashion Merchandising school. She worked for 18 years at Express in Columbus, Ohio, where she became director of fashion trend forecasting. Subsequently, Debbie traveled the world finding trend ideas for Express, J.C. Penney, Lane Bryant, and Ross stores. She will be remembered for her warm, loving personality and for the time she spent mentoring graduates entering the fashion design field. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of Family Hospice for the excellent care provided to Debbie. Friends are welcome for visitation at The Bible Chapel in McMurray on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. and will be live-streamed at https://www.biblechapel.org/watch-live/. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601, or The Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317.
