DOLORES TKACIK

Dolores Tkacik Babin passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 92. Born on September 20, 1932, in McKees Rocks, PA, Dolores's life was filled with the joy of family, music, and faith.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 73 years, Theodore J. Babin, Sr. ("Ted"). She was cherished mother to Theodore J. Babin, Jr. (Allison), Cynthia Babin Anderson (David), and Gregory Babin (Janine), and beloved grandmother to Nicholas Babin (Stephanie), Andrew Babin (Lexi), William Anderson (Rachael), and Bethany Anderson Frank (Colt), along with numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was "Aunt Dee" to many nieces and nephews.

Dolores's passion for the arts was evident to all who knew her. Her love for classical music, ballet, musical theater, and especially opera, was an important part of her life. She was an ardent supporter of the performing arts in Pittsburgh.

She was a devout and active parishioner of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in McKees Rocks, and a life-long pirohi worker to the benefit of the church community.

Family and friends are welcome to the SZAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 238 Helen Street McKees Rocks on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm -8:00 pm. Parastas will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. The funeral will begin on Wednesday July 23, 2025 beginning at 9:30 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church at 10:00 am followed by the interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
