DON E.

Don E. Turner passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at the age of 68. Born and raised in Homestead, Pennsylvania, Don graduated from Steel Valley High School in 1975 before proudly serving in the United States Army. Don faced a tough battle with stage 4 cancer -- a fight he met with strength, humor, and resilience. True to form, he didn't just fight it -- he beat it. Known for his sharp wit and playful spirit, Don brought laughter wherever he went. He loved family gatherings and never missed a chance to crack a joke or lighten the mood. A true family man at heart, Don was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. By his side at nearly all times was his beloved dog, Shadow -- a beautiful black Cane Corso who was more like a best friend than a pet. The two were inseparable, and Don took great pride in caring for him. He had a passion for classic Cadillacs, sleek sports cars, and his motorcycle, which brought him endless joy and a sense of freedom. When time allowed, Don enjoyed working out and staying active, often surprising people with his many hidden talents -- including his love for cooking. Don's generous spirit touched many. He was the kind of friend who would gladly give you the shirt off his back -- or a plate from his kitchen. One of his most cherished friendships was with Rev. Doug Patton, a lifelong friend of over forty years. Don often sought his wisdom and spoke with him about God, always curious, always searching. Now, that search is complete -- God has called him home. Don was preceded in death by his dear mother, Gladys Turner and he is survived by his son, Keno Turner; his brother, Kim Turner (wife Marlene); and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Though he has left this earth, Don's laughter, love, and light-hearted presence will continue to be felt by all who knew him.
