My condolences go out to the family of Donald Abbott ... I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. I worked with Don many many many years ago at Kappel's Jewelers ... such a wonderful, gentle man ... Don & his wife, Aleene, adopted a german shepherd puppy from my parents way back when. How fortunate I have been to have known him. Take care.

Dear Kevin and family. I was a friend of your brother Grant and loved your parents dearly. I would see your Dad from time to time and would sometimes ride him home when I would see him walking. He usually had a goodie box from the bakery. I had just recently found out he was at Brookdale and was going to visit him with some homemade cookies but no visitors allowed due to the virus. So sad I didn’t get a chance to see his smile one last time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult of times. R.I.P. Mr. Abbott.

If someone wrote a history of Resurrection parish over the last 50 years, Don's name would appear on every other page. He was an extremely dedicated and inspiring man through whom the love of God flowed. Brookline and the world will be a darker place without him and I thank God that he was given the privilege of dying on the feast of St. Joseph, the patron saint of a happy death. May the angels lead him into paradise.

Be assured of my thoughts and prayers at this time. May Don find peace in the arms of our Lord, and reunited with all who have gone before him.
