Age 90, of Upper St. Clair, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marguerite "Midge" Petito. He is survived by his children, Tullio (Lisa), Nicholas (Lori), Vincent (Kimberly), Joseph (Julia), and Maria (William) Conrad; his grandchildren, Alexia and Armand, Nichole, Gina, Anthony and Dominic, Amanda, and Isabella, Margherita and Spencer; and one great-grandchild to be born in early 2026. Donald is also the brother of Beatrice Petito and the late Maria Thompson. Don was born on September 7, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Tullio and Aida Petito and raised in Douglaston, NY. He graduated from New England College with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He then served in the U.S. Army for two years, 1958-1960. Don and his wife, Midge, both found their paths intertwined in a remarkable way. Their story began when Don traveled to Baltimore for work in the early stages of his career. He was tasked with overseeing the construction of a new building for a fashion design company, where Midge worked. It was there, amid the energy of creation and design, that their connection was formed, and they were married in 1964. Together, Don and Midge built a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure. Don started his engineering career building department stores for Montgomery Ward and then retired from JCPenney as vice president of construction. Don also enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1965 Bonneville Convertible that he rebuilt with his son, Joe, and still has to this day. As a proud Italian-American, Don carried the values of family, loyalty, and tradition throughout his life, passing these cherished ideals on to his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, where a blessing service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11 AM.
