DONALD WILLIAMS Obituary

Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Donald, age 86, of Shaler and formerly of Oakland, passed away due to his heart issues and dementia. He was born in 1935 to the late Elizabetta and Jack Williams. Donald grew up in Oakland and then lived in Shadyside until he and his wife moved to Shaler 20 years ago. He married the love of his life, Anna Jean D'Andrea, 65 years ago and they enjoyed each moment together. Donald and Anna Jean raised their two children Susan (Michael) Rupert and the late Paul. Donald also leaves behind two loving grandchildren; Sara (Ryan) Celender and Kevin Rupert, two great-grandchildren Ava and Dominic Celender. Also he is survived by two nephews David (Connie) and Robert (Silvia) Palmieri, two nieces Donna (Edward) Tersine and Carol (Pierre) Moreau, and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends. He worked in the Facilities Management Dept. of the University of Pittsburgh as a supervisor for 38 years where he was responsible for maintaining the many buildings on campus. Donald supervised a large staff and forged a climate of teamwork until he retired in 1997 where he was given a great send off. He was a hard worker throughout his lifetime, often working multiple jobs to provide the best for his family. Donald loved animals, fast cars, the Pitt Panthers, the Steelers, dancing the jitterbug and polka, and above all else his Pitt hat and jacket. He was a kind and generous man, always observing a situation before making a decision. Donald will be remembered for being witty with a sense of humor, always trying to "pull your chain". He will be dearly missed. Family and friends are welcomed at the JOHN N.
