Dorothea M. Stringer, 99, longtime resident of the Fawcett Plan, McKeesport, died Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, McKeesport. She was born October 18, 1926, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Carl and Marie (Wagner) Kunkle. Dorothea was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Irwin, and a former member of Praise Assembly of God, North Versailles. She was a longtime volunteer for Meals On Wheels, loved to bake, and was caregiver for her family when needed. She operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop, out of her home for 65 years. She resided at Riverside Care Center for the past 18 months and made many friends there. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clifford C. Stringer. She is survived by her children, Pastor Randy Stringer of Grove City and Laurene Barna (Wayne) of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren, Joshua Stringer, Jamie Guiser (Nick), Catherine-Noel Schultz (Brian), Christopher Walsh (Janna), Maria Rajput (Gagan), Jenna Barna and Samuel Barna (Courtney); also 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 9, at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 10. A luncheon will follow the service at First Assembly of God's Church, Irwin. Private interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit:
