DOROTHY EVELYN

Dorothy Evelyn Kowalski, affectionately known to nearly everyone as "Grandma" or "Aunt Dorothy," age 97, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on December 5, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Prince Fitz.

She was employed as a sales representative for the former Horne's Department Store. Dorothy was a woman of faith, dedicated to praying the Rosary every day. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and never missed watching a game. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unconditional love, making everyone she met feel like family. Grandma had a special love for and collection of teddy bears, an apt symbol for her warmth and caring.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Kowalski Jr.; and her son, Joseph P. Kowalski III.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Karen (Frank) Sansosti of North Huntingdon, PA, and Robert (Ellen) Kowalski of Richmond, VA; grandson, Frank Joseph (Jenine) Sansosti of Stow, OH; and great-granddaughter, Natalia Sansosti of Stow, OH.

Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Dorothy's life on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, and Adam Striffler Galaski, 412-678-6177). Services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A burial will follow.
