DOROTHY L."DOTTY"

Dorothy L."Dotty" Johnson, age 87, of Ross Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh to Alfred E. Thomson Jr. and Dorothy (Schmelz) Thomson. Dotty was a lifelong resident of the North Hills and a graduate of Grove City College. She managed a professional real estate career while being a devoted wife to Bruce F. Johnson and mother to son, Bob Johnson; and daughters, Tracy (Riley) and Sue Ann (Fox). Dotty's incredible work ethic was in accordance with the family tradition and her contributions significantly added to the success and reputation of the Thomson and Johnson families. Dotty's professional life started in the early 1960s as an executive secretary for U.S. Steel and later her family's residential and commercial building business, land development and property management. Among others, she was a significant contributor to the success of North Suburban Land Company, Chapel Hill Apartments, Beaver Hall, and Hunter's Point. It must be said, all this while being a wonderful wife to Bruce, who loved her deeply, and a loving mother to Sue Ann, Tracy, and Bob. Her principal integrity, ethics, and wisdom are her legacy and foundation within her children and grandchildren. Dotty is survived by son, Bob Johnson; daughter-in-law, Chris Johnson; and her grandchildren, Bob Johnson, Jake Johnson, and Kelsey (Morris); and great-granddaughter, Lindy Johnson; daughter, Tracy Riley; son-in-law, Richard Riley; and grandson, Gwynn Riley; granddaughter-in-law, Brooke Riley; grandson, Alex Riley; and granddaughter-in-law, Missa Riley; and great-grandson Rise Riley; daughter, Sue Ann Fox; son-in-law Alan Fox; granddaughter, Alyson Flint, Lauren Fox; and grandson, Evan Fox. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, at the Bock Funeral Home Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, at 10:30 AM.
