DOROTHY LOUISE

Dorothy Louise Faust, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 77 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born in Crafton, PA on May 13, 1947, to John D. and Evelyn M. Helms. She married the love of her life, Dennis Alton Faust, on August 23, 1974, in Crafton, PA. Their union was blessed with three children: Deborah, Susan, and Daniel Faust. Dorothy's legacy continues through her six grandchildren: Katelyn Kelly, Carolyn DeSena, Emily DeSena, Abigail DeSena, Alton Faust, and Evelyn Faust.

Dorothy worked as a paralegal for a number of years before dedicating herself fully to her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a source of strength and joy for her family and friends, known for her culinary talents and mental acuity. An incredibly dignified and private individual, she possessed an impressive mental fortitude, rarely getting agitated or flustered, even in challenging situations.

While partial to classical music, Dorothy also enjoyed Willie Nelson, with "Always On My Mind" being one of her favorite songs. She found joy in simple pleasures: yellow roses, cooking, crossword puzzles, old movies, and bird watching with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Deborah, Susan, and Daniel Faust; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Carolyn, Emily, Abigail, Alton, and Evelyn; her sisters, Beverly Horvat, Janet Marburger, and Betty Merlina; and her brothers, Mark Helms and Paul Helms; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John D. and Evelyn M. Helms; and her siblings, Byron Helms and Donna Lambert.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date. Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
