DR. JAMES J.

Age 90, of Valencia, passed away peacefully, on October 7, 2025.

Husband of Bettina Siciliano Kermes and the late Carol Sweeney Kermes. Father of Stephanie Lynn Hoover and John William Kermes (Charles Gunheim). Step-father of Thomas D. Halligan, Sr. (Tina) and Stacy L. Lucas. Grandfather of T.J. Halligan, Sara Lucas, Olivia Hoover and Lauren Lucas. Son of the late John and Katherine Kermes. Preceded in death by his siblings, Constantine J. Kermes, Anna Argyros Doulgeris, Irene Kelly and Helen Meraklis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dr. Kermes received his undergraduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania, his Master's degree from Duquesne University and his Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. With 41 years in education, he served as a teacher, Principal, and Director of Personnel for both Millvale and Shaler Area School Districts.

Visitation, Friday, October 10, from 2 P.M. until the time of the Trisagion at 7 P.M., at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.

Funeral Service, on Saturday, October 11, at 11 A.M., at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 985 Providence Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Everyone please meet at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial in his name made to Holy Trinity.
