DR. ROBERT E.

Dr. Robert E. Wolfensperger, 79, formerly of Modesto, California, died on Friday, March 27 at Concordia of Bridgeville. He was the son of Robert E. Wolfensperger and Anne E. (Hildenberger) of Mount Lebanon.

Bob graduated from Saint Bernard School, South Hills Catholic High School, Wheeling Jesuit College and Georgetown University School of Medicine.

After medical school, Bob served as an emergency room physician for over 40 years, as well as a senior partner in the California Emergency Physicians Group based in Modesto.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Mary Kay (Fulton) Bordin and Joan Schwabedissen of Dormont. He is survived by sisters Nancy E. (Donald) Kost of Venetia, Pa, Martha C. (Nelson) Grove of Bunker Hill, WV, and Ellen W. (Michael) Lindahl of Naples, Florida.

A great portion of Bob's life was spent at work or enjoying his hobbies of bicycling, deep sea fishing, hickory golf and playing bridge.

Bob received many honors during his life including: Eagle Scout, A basketball scholarship to Wheeling College, Beginning the first Rugby Club in college, First President and one of the founders of the Emergency Residents' Association, Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Clinical instructor and supervisor for the Stanislaus County (CA) Paramedic Training Program, Hole in One at the Del Rio Country Club, Modesto, CA, Many awards playing in the Society of Hickory Golfers.

For the last three years, Bob resided in Assisted Living at Concordia of Bridgeville where we was affectionately known as "The Lollipop Doc". He will be missed by many.
