EDWARD E. BROWN Obituary
BROWN
EDWARD E.
Edward E. Brown passed away May 29, 2026. Ed grew up in Mt. Lebanon where he was known as Ned. He attended Fishburne Military School and studied engineering at Penn State and Bliss School of Electricity (now Montgomery College) after which he worked for General Electric on radar systems.
Ed was serving in the Army when he married Marilyn and was posted to Germany where they made many long-lasting friends before making their home in Mt. Lebanon and starting a family. The family later moved to Upper St. Clair.
Ed came from a family of electrical engineers and followed his father in the leadership of Brown Electrical Engineering but he especially loved being with people, be it at a customer site, on the golf course, a late night around the card table, or over dinner. He often came prepared with a joke or entertained with one of his many well-honed stories about his shenanigans.
A native Pittsburgher, he always rooted for the black & gold. He was a member of the Engineers' Society of Western PA, the Jaycees, and St. Clair Country Club where he served on the board of directors.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Alison and his wife of 63 years, Marilyn. He is survived by daughter Linda, brothers Roger (predeceased Nancy) and Thomas (predeceased Mary), companion Chris Wolf, and a dozen nieces and nephews and their families. He also leaves behind a vibrant community of friends at Friendship Village.
A Memorial Service will be held at Friendship Village South Hills, 1290 Boyce Rd., Upper St. Clair PA 15241 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donation to the Team Member Appreciation Fund (TMAF) at Friendship Village (https://www.thelifespacefoundation.org/give-now/).
