EDWARD "ED"

Edward "Ed" Gillenberger II, age 89, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family.

Born on November 19, 1935, in Carrick, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Matilda Gillenberger. Ed was the beloved father of Linda (Larry) Szramowski and Mark (Terrie) Gillenberger.

Father-in-law to Peggy and Alice Gillenberger.

Grandfather of Susan (Greg) Mercer, Chris (Michael) Rupnik, Matthew, Jeffrey (Dana) Gillenberger, Alyssa, and Scott (Mylee) Gillenberger.

Great-grandfather of Julia, Jameson, Calvin, Preston and Jordyn.

Edward was preceded in death by his loving spouse, Giovanni "Joan" Gillenberger; and his sons, Jeffrey, Kenneth, and Edward Gillenberger Ill.

For over 50 years, Ed owned and operated Gillenberger Construction, Inc. He had a passion for motorcycles, playing the stock market, camping, hunting, breeding birds and spending time with his family.

Family and friends are welcomed for Visitation on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1 PM, at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116. Visitation to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM, at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church, 2001 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116, with a committal to follow at Allegheny Cemetery Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave., McCandless, PA 15101.
