GILLENBERGER, III

EDWARD J.

Age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, of Finleyville. He was the cherished husband of Peggy (Vogel) Gillenberger; and a loving father to Susan (Greg) Mercer and Chris (Michael) Rupnik. He was a devoted Pappap to his grandchildren: Julia, Jameson and Jordyn Mercer and Calvin and Preston Rupnik.

Ed was the beloved son of Edward and the late Giovanna Gillenberger, Jr.; and a dear brother to Linda (Larry) Szramowski and Mark (Terri) Gillenberger. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth and Jeffrey Gillenberger. He was also a brother-in-law to Alice Gillenberger; and a fond uncle to Matthew, Jeffrey, Alyssa and Scott.

For 35 years, Ed was a dedicated member of the carpenter's union local #432. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his grandchildren, often engaging in nerf wars and pine wood derby races with his grandkid's boy scouts troops. Known as the "Ed of all trades,"he was always building something, whether it was derby cars, houses, decks or Lincoln logs.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., at the READSHAW FUNERAL HOME, 1503 Brownsville Road. Funeral prayers will be offered on Monday, at 9:45 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil Church of Blessed Trinity Parish at 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
