Age 78, of Ross Twp., passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 5, 2026. Beloved husband for 53 years of Kathie (Cassell) Matthews; loving father of Angela Lebanik (Michael) of Davenport, FL and Annette Mirt (Christopher) of McDonald; adoring "Papa" of Owen, Isaac and Hope; brother of the late Richard W. Matthews. Son of the late Betty and Edward Matthews; he is also survived by countless loving family and friends. Ed was a proud graduate of Michigan State University in Civil Engineering. He was an avid reader and golfer, a lover of sweets, and a history buff, but nothing was more important to him than his family and his faith. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, 2-6 P.M., at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Teresa of Avila Church, 300 Avila Ct., Pittsburgh, PA 15237, on Monday, at 10 A.M. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Warren, PA.
