EDWARD J.
Age 91, of Munhall, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at UPMC Mercy. Born in Duquesne on May 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Benedictus Pacacha and late Maria Pacacha.
Ed retired from US Steel, Duquesne Works, and became a full-time magician. He was known as "Fast Eddie" and was also known for his sponge carvings that he used on his magic tricks. His sponge bunnies were used by Lance Burton on KDKA TV. He lived a very good and happy life, especially spending time with his family.
He was the husband of the late Veronica "Vern" (Herock) Pacacha; and stepfather of Matthew J. "Jackie" (Ann) Jacobs of Houston, TX, and Marie S. (David) Ladd of Queenstown, MA. He had four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Carl Thomas Pacacha of Michigan; and the late brothers and sisters, Walter Alexander "Wally" Pacacha, Josephine Mary "Josie" Debiak, Irene Pacacha, Stephen Pacacha, Sylvester "Cy" Pacacha, Regina Sudzina, Dolores Savage, Norbert Pacacha, Frank Victor Pacacha, and Patricia "Patsy" Kampert.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 1-4 p.m., and Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9-10 a.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, PA 15110, 412-466-3300, with William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer and Allan J. Weber, funeral directors. Transfer prayers will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery, West Mifflin.
