KILLMEYER

EDWARD RICHERT

Of Marshall Township, PA, passed away unexpectedly, on February 14, 2026, at the age of 72. Ed was a lifelong Pittsburgher, like his late parents, Rich and Claire Killmeyer. He was loved for his easygoing manner, kindness, and humility. Ed was a happy person and a joy to be around. He will be dearly missed for his generous heart and quiet strength, showing when it mattered most. An Eagle Scout, Ed was a 1971 graduate of Avalon High School and earned degrees from Penn State and CCAC. After working at J&L Steel, he began a successful career in the computer programming field at CCAC, UPMC, and BNY Mellon. Ed was an avid fan of all of the Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Pitt sports teams. Well-known for his love of classic rock music, he frequently attended live concerts. Ed is survived by his siblings, Richard P. (Denise) Killmeyer Jr., Susanne Killmeyer, Michael Killmeyer and Elizabeth (Mark) Thomas; and nieces and nephews, Brandon Kehr, Kristin Killmeyer, Eric Thomas, Alex Thomas and Taylor Thomas; his uncle, Donald Killmeyer; and cousins, Timothy Killmeyer and Wayde Killmeyer.

Visitation and a celebration of Ed's life will be held at the LAWRENCE T. MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 460 Lincoln Ave, Bellevue, on Saturday, February 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a blessing service at 3:00 p.m. Ed was a music-loving free spirit, and everyone is invited to dress in their best concert or other colorful T-shirt, if they wish. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Avalon Public Library or the Light of Life Rescue Mission.
