ELIZABETH "BETSY" WATERS

Age 94, of Longwood at Oakmont, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 7, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard J. Roughen; loving mother of John (Paula) Roughen of Alpharetta, Georgia, Margaret "Meg" (Allen) Kelly of Sarasota, Florida and the late Janet Roughen; and cherished grandmother of Blair, Seth, Pierce and Claire.

Betsy was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from Roland Park Country School and Wheaton College. After a brief career as a kindergarten teacher, she devoted herself to raising her family. She was an avid tennis player, enjoyed gardening, and belonged to the Fox Chapel Garden Club and Fox Chapel Golf Club. She treasured her friendships and enjoyed an active social life. Betsy will be remembered with love by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 15, at 11:30 a.m., at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Avenue, Aspinwall. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrenceville.
