PATTERSON
ELIZABETH FITZPATRICK
Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Patterson was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 11, 1934, and passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Ron. Theirs was the love story of her life - one that exemplified faith, devotion, and a deep commitment to one another. She was also preceded in death by four infant children at birth, and she looked forward with joy to being reunited with them in heaven. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Leonard "Pat," Frank and sister Ginny Greenier (Joe). She is survived by her brother Jerry Tibbetts (Carol) and sister-in-law Sharon Fitzpatrick. Also surviving her are her other children Lynn Rhodes and Kevin Patterson (Jane).
She has been richly blessed with six grandchildren and their loved spouses; Tommy Rhodes (Nancy), Cali Gialousis (K.C.), Janie Castilla (Dave), Josh Patterson (Nikki), Scott Patterson (April) and Steve Patterson (Lauren). She also was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life. She often said that when she is surrounded by her family and friends, she is in her "happy place".
Betty graduated as the salutatorian of her class and went on to a career as a pension administrator and actuary. She began her professional work with Berkshire Life Insurance and completed her career with Brand, Burstin, Runette. Known for her sharp mind and speed, she could type an impressive 98 words per minute. She never stopped learning and amazed her family with her ability to keep up on everything from iPhone, iPad and any any new updates in computer technology. She also was noted for her smart investment strategies.
After retirement she and her husband spent many years vacationing in Hawaii before moving from their home near Zelienople, Pennsylvania and settling in Winterhaven and Brandon, Florida.
She will be remembered for her incredible generosity, kindness and unwavering devotion to her faith. She quietly gave to many charities, especially those that had supported her as a child. She was known to say, "Live simply so that we can give, that others may live." She loved Scripture, prayer, and Bible studies, and her greatest desire was that the Lord would bless her children and grandchildren and that they would know Him to the thousandth generation.
