ELIZABETH LOUISE "BETTY LOU" (PIEFFER)

Elizabeth "Betty Lou" Klarnet (Pieffer), born May 10, 1944, passed away on April 26, 2026. A devoted wife and mother, Betty Lou spent 22 years as a proud military wife, raising her four daughters while living throughout the United States and in Germany. She later worked for many years at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, where she combined her love of reading with meaningful work.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Pieffer; her sister, Shirley Thomas; and her grandson, Christopher Boles. She is survived by her brother, Bill (Beatrice) Pieffer; daughters Jeanette (Tom) Boles, Vickie (Rob) Hartman, Mary (Mark) Lucas, and Christinia Klarnet; along with her grandchildren Katie, Michael, Sam, Andrew, Dylan, Ryan, Paul, Tyler, Brandon, and Maddie; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends whose lives she touched along the way.
