Elizabeth Rose Turner, known to friends and family as Bette, passed away July 14, 2026, at her home in Grand Prairie, TX. Although Bette survived over 12 years of chemotherapy treatment for cancer, she could not overcome complications from a stroke suffered in December 2025.

Bette was born January 29, 1942, in Glassport, to Margaret Elizabeth Petrulak and Alex Keddie. When Bette was about six, her mother married Henry Mehn, who later adopted Bette. His U.S. Air Force career took the family to postings in America and Germany, ending in San Antonio during her high school and college years. After college, Bette became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines and enjoyed that life until marriage and the birth of a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins. An earlier daughter was born prematurely and did not survive. The remainder of her career was in customer relations with various airlines and companies, retiring from the American Airlines AA.COM unit in late 1990s.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins (Lisa); her husband, Johnnie Turner; and his children, Courtney and Cole; grandchildren, Mason Nelson, Miles Fridrich, Taylor, Mac and Parker Turner; Gareth Pratti and Allie Sears.

Bette was preceded in death by mother, Margaret Petrulak; father, Alex Keddie and wife, Antonette Thomas-Keddie; adopted father, Henry Mehn; husbands, Jerry Jenkins and Dave Keeton.

Bette was an avid reader, often with novels going on multiple E-readers at once. She also enjoyed games and puzzles on her iPad and activities with Lisa, and her grandsons, Mason and Miles.

Cremation services were handled by ACREMATION FUNERAL HOME. In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned. Bette hoped everyone would rejoice at the end of her sufferings and smile when remembering her.
