ELMER "AL" FRANK
Elmer "Al" Frank Gladish, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 87. He was the father of Sharon (Albert) Huntermark, Colleen (Doug) Barth, Alan Gladish, Gloria Burdette, Ken (Karen) Gladish, and Kassy Hunt. Grandfather of six: Lauren, Stacy, Kirstie, Clinton, Ashley, and Katie. Great-grandfather of five: Emery, Landon, Charlotte, Hunter, and Sawyer. Brother of Eugene, and the late Margaret, Eleanor, Martin, Raymond, Carol, and "Dee" Dolly (also his lifelong best friend). Also survived by his former spouse Katherine (Remaly) Gladish and many beloved friends and family members.
Al had over a twenty-year career with the US Army. He proudly served during the German and Korean occupations and in the Vietnam War, retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CWO3). Al was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Presidential Unit Citation, among many other commendations during his service.
After completing his military career, Al worked for Conrail until retiring at the age of sixty-two.
A military funeral with full honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, date and time to be determined.
