Oakmont - Emma McAfee, 37, formerly of Oakmont, died on February 8, 2026. Emma was born on June 26, 1988, in Pittsburgh.

Emma is survived by her parents, Anne Shearon and Robert (Nora) McAfee, her sister, Rebecca (Peter) Addess and her partner, Brian Ader of Corryton, TN. She is also survived by her step-sisters, Julie (Rob) Laucks and Rachel (Matt) Jackson and nephews, Cayden, Cameron, and Walker, and niece, Sabrina. She is also survived by her sausage-shaped dog, Party Boy (PB to those that know him).

Emma attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergraduate degree, studying French and Philosophy and Temple University for a Masters in Business. She worked in non-profit development, consulting and market research in Pittsburgh, Ohio, and Tennessee.

If Emma loved you, she really loved you. She will be remembered for living life on her own terms with a quick wit, open heart and mind, and an adventurous spirit. She was an avid reader, an excellent left-footed scrappy soccer player, an informed liberal thinker, and recently began exploring her artistic side, making paintings and crafts for friends and family. Emma loved watching bad reality TV and guessing Jeopardy answers before the contestants.

Funeral services were private. A celebration of Emma's life will be scheduled in early summer.

Memorials or donations are suggested to Prevention Point Pittsburgh, an organization with which Emma volunteered during and after college.
