On Friday, September 26, 2025, Evaline E. Conner, beloved mother of Christine C. Moore (Dan), Cynthia C. Goodman (Bill), Catherine C. March (Jeffrey), Robert C. Conner (Jennifer); ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and sister to Charles and Richard; passed away peacefully, at the age of 95, in Elizabethtown, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Christina (Gallop) Esswein. In addition to her parents and husband of 48 years, Robert C. Conner, Evaline was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward, Mary and Catherine.
Evaline was an avid walker and a passionate reader. She delighted in playing bridge, completing puzzles, and especially baking cookies for her family. In her professional life, she worked in various retail stores and boutiques, most recently Erin's Hallmark Shop in Bellevue, PA. Evaline resided in BenAvon, PA and was a member of Sacred Heart Church-Regina Coeli Parish, in Emsworth, PA, where she was a member of the choir. Evaline spent many years at Masonic Village of Sewickley, PA and her last year at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA, to be closer to her family. Evaline will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman with an infectious smile, who dearly loved her family and faith.
Evaline will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at Garrett County Memorial Gardens in Oakland, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evaline's memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church - Regina Coeli Parish, 45 N. Sprague Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
