FRANCINE K.

Age 75, of Pittsburgh, formerly of the Bronx, NY, passed away suddenly on October 25, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Helen and Ted Klebanoff. Loving mother of Lauren (Michael) Herron and Jonathan (Nicole) Altman; adoring grandmother of Stark Altman. Francine was a talented needlepointer, devoted reader, and enthusiastic bridge player. A loyal Pittsburgh Pirates fan, she cheered them on faithfully, no matter how hopeless the season. She also loved giving back, volunteering at her daughter's school, where her warmth and humor brightened many days.

She was especially proud to have helped open the South Hills Barnes & Noble, where she worked for more than a decade. There she made many cherished friendships and delighted in recommending books, her favorite to share was Once We Were Brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Liberty Pointe Clubhouse, 35 Highland Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.

Donations in her memory may be made to Pittsburgh Animal Friends or the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
