GARY W. NICKEL Obituary

Unexpected on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, age 61, of Shadyside, formerly of Point Breeze. Loving companion of Kathy Maguire; son of the late Bill and Eleanor Nickel; brother of Kenneth R. (Cara and the late Debbie), Thomas P. (the late Susan), Robert G. (Faye), Mary Beth Conroy, Patricia L. Lilja, and Jane N. Valenta (William); also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gary worked at the Shakespeare Street Giant Eagle for 38 years. He will be remembered as a talented athlete and a true lover of the outdoors. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC., FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Sunday, 3-7 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be required. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Bede Church on Monday at 10 a.m. THOSE WISHING TO ATTEND, PLEASE GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment private.
