GEORGE F.

Age 94, of Mt. Lebanon, originally of Beechview, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, after a brief period of hospice care.

Beloved husband for 52 years of the late Anne Katherine (Keane) Keiser; son of the late George A. and Marcella Keiser; brother of the late Jean (Frank "Tip") Veltri; devoted father of the late George (Donna), John (Tomi) and Robert (Karen) Keiser; loving grandfather of Andrea (Kyle) Utz, Alex (Cassie) Keiser, Shauna, Christina, Stephen, David, Elizabeth, Rose, and Daniel Keiser; great-grandfather to Rory Keiser and baby Utz.

George was a dedicated pharmacist, proud father/grandfather, and cherished friend. A man of deep faith, professional distinction, and enduring warmth, George leaves behind a legacy defined by excellence in Pharmacy and a profound love for his family and alma mater.

George graduated in 1954 from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, where he met his wife and fellow pharmacist, Anne. After graduation, George went on to serve as a medic during the Korean War, spent 30 years in retail pharmacy at John's Drug Store in Beechview, and served 20 more years in hospital pharmacy. He retired at age 74, as a Senior Pharmacist at St. Clair Hospital – one of the first to work alongside a cutting-edge robotic system designed to fill drug boxes for patient rooms.

George's affinity for Duquesne University spanned a lifetime. A true highlight of his later years occurred when he was formally recognized at the Duquesne School of Pharmacy Centennial Celebration. As the senior-most alumnus in attendance, George achieved the unprecedented milestone of having celebrated the school's 25th, 50th, 75th, and ultimately, its 100th anniversaries. He stood alone in the room as the only individual who had been present for nearly the entire century of the pharmacy school's existence - a testament to his lifelong loyalty.

An avid fan of high school sports, George held a special passion for Mt. Lebanon football and basketball. For many years, he and his son, Bob, shared countless memorable moments cheering from the stands together until his vision declined.

For the past eight years, George embraced independent living at Brookdale Senior Living. He enjoyed the companionship of new friends, the excellent food, activities, and the occasional happy hour! Even with his limited eyesight, George had an uncanny ability to identify friends by the sound of their voice, the color of their clothing, or the distinct look of their walker. George will be fondly remembered for his trademark navy blue Adidas tracksuits and the custom birthday cards he and Bob made for family and friends.

George's sharp wit, remarkable memory, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by his family, the residents and staff at Brookdale, and the countless lives he touched throughout his 94 years.

Friends and family will be received at the LAUGHLIN CREMATION & FUNERAL TRIBUTES, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA, on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10 a.m., in Saint Paul of the Cross Parish – Saint Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. (Everyone Please Meet at Church) Committal service will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, the family suggests donations be made in memory of George (either online or by mail) to Duquesne University - School of Pharmacy or Saint Paul of the Cross Parish.
